Prince Salman/PIF: 2020-21 Lineup

Newcastle United is currently recognized as the sleeping giant of English football and Prince Mohammed bin Salman plans to tap into the club’s full potential. Not only would this takeover enable Newcastle United to reach new heights as a club, but it could very well shake up the status quo at the top end of the table.

Several notable players have been linked with moves to Newcastle United as a result of the pending takeover. However, due to Financial Fair Play regulations, Prince Salman and his partners will not be allowed to empty their pockets on all the top players.

A wide range of players across Europe could make their way to St. James’ Park, but here is a list of players I think the new owners could persuade to join the Magpies this summer, especially if Philippe Coutinho is the first marquee signing of the summer.

  • Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona)
  • Franck Kessie (AC Milan)
  • Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli)
  • Edinson Cavani (PSG)

Anything is possible this summer if new owners take charge, but, in my opinion, the four players listed below would be the most likely to join. Here is how the overall lineup would look with these familiar, but new faces on Tyneside.
