Newcastle United could secure permanent moves for two key players and we look at how the lineup could look next season.

Tottenham and Inter Milan have both been reported to want their current loanees at Newcastle United to stay with the Magpies on permanent moves. Danny Rose and Valentino Lazaro, respectively, are the two players involved and they could be welcome additions to the long-term future at Newcastle.

If both moves become permanent, without factoring the other signees or departures that could happen over the summer, we look at what a starting XI could look like for Steve Bruce’s Magpies. In this exercise, we will assume that Bruce doesn’t return to his five at the back formation.

More from Newcastle Toons

Martin Dubravka will be fully recovered from his leg injury and will continue to be the starter between the sticks.

Jamaal Lascelles and either Federico Fernandez, Fabian Schar, Ciaran Clark, or Florian Lejeune will occupy the central defense. Danny Rose would be a lock as the starting left-back, a steady defender that’s willing to get forward a bit. Right-back would be Javier Manquillo or potentially DeAndre Yedlin.

Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden would be holding down the central midfield. In a 4-2-3-1 look, Valentino Lazaro would be a welcome sight to see down the right wing. Opposite him, Allan Saint-Maximin is the surefire starter. Miguel Almiron could play as a number ten with Lazaro and ASM running the flanks. Up top, Joelinton would continue playing as the striker in this system.

Both Lazaro and Rose would be welcome additions to a Newcastle United squad that can use as many talented players as they can add.
