Ranking the best goals between Perez and Rondon

Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon have been top players for Newcastle United and they have scored some impressive goals this season.

Newcastle United are finally enjoying some quality on the front-line. Last season, Dwight Gayle and Joselu only managed to score a combined total of 10 goals in 38 matches. This season, Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon have scored 19 goals for the Magpies with three games left on the schedule. This attacking duo has been in stellar form for Newcastle, especially in recent weeks, and their goals have enabled the Toon to secure their Premier League safety in comfortable fashion.

This summer will be nerve-wrecking for Newcastle supporters as it is unclear whether Rondon’s deal will become permanent and no one knows if Perez will ask for a move to La Liga. In this article, though, we will not worry about what could happen this summer. Instead, we will appreciate what we currently have by looking at the best goals the duo has scored so far this season.

5. Perez vs. Huddersfield Town (H)

Newcastle were the dominant side when these teams met at St. James’ Park. Perez gave Newcastle the extra cushion they needed to see this one out early in the second half. The Spaniard managed to get in great position in a crowded box to score the dagger for the Toon.

4. Rondon vs. Bournemouth (H)

Newcastle won their second game of the season against Bournemouth thanks to Rondon’s brace. His second goal made this list as he outmuscled the defender to rise up for a powerful, curling header to give the Toon a 2-0 lead.

3. Perez vs. Leicester City (H)

Playing on the road against a top ten side is never easy, but Perez secured three points for the Toon with his goal. The 25-year-old scored a brilliant header from a tight angle with Wes Morgan breathing down his neck.

2. Rondon vs. Bournemouth (A)

This goal made Rondon look like David Beckham. His free kick had plenty of power and the way it quickly curled away from the keeper into the net makes it a stunning goal.

1. Rondon vs. Everton (H)

Rondon scored a wonderful volley to get Newcastle back into the game against Everton, which ended in a 3-2 thriller at St. James’ Park. Rondon scored, but Perez’s amazing assist is what makes this goal even more special. As a result, it is only fitting that a goal involving both players takes the top spot.
