New chapters for six Newcastle United players.
Newcastle United and manager Rafa Benitez have had themselves an interesting 24 hours on and off the pitch, with two new signings and 1-1 draw against Burnley. The Magpies also sent six players out on-loan for the rest of the season, and will be hoping that each individual will be able to make the most out of their new journey.
Islam Slimani and Martin Dubravka came in one direction, while several others are heading in the other direction. Each have unique situations, and have unique destinations. Three players will be staying in England, while the other three will be taking their talents to different countries.
We highlight the deals, the players involved and what to expect from their new clubs.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – Fulham
The Serbian international appeared poised to re-join RSC Anderlecht, until an agreement was unable to be reached. Mitrovic returns to the Championship with Fulham aiming for more minutes and more opportunities.
Out of favour in Benitez’s selections, this will be the beginning of his new journey away from Newcastle.
Rolando Aarons – Hellas Verona
Unable to gain consistent minutes in the line-up this season, Aarons makes the move to Serie A with Hellas Verona.
The pacey winger will be hoping for more chances with United’s first team in 2018-19.
Freddie Woodman – Aberdeen
Once the Toon secured Martin Dubravka from Sparta Prague, Woodman’s loan to Scotland was sealed.
The young keeper will have more first-team chances with Aberdeen.
Jamie Sterry – Crewe Alexandra
Rarely given much of a look by Benitez this term, Sterry signed with League Two club Crewe Alexandra.
The 22-year-old defender should be able to gain valuable experience.
Henri Saivet – Sivasspor
Despite a magnificent free-kick against West Ham, Saivet will play out the rest of the season in the Turkish Super League with Sivasspor.
The potential to be great is there, and Saivet will benefit from a larger role.
Jack Colback – Nottingham Forest
Finally, Newcastle United’s missing man has come out of the shadows. With absolutely no involvement with the squad in 2017-18, Colback looks to recover his form with Nottingham Forest.

His future with the Magpies is bleak at best, and it will be fascinating to see how Colback responds to his new setting.
