With FIFA 18 officially hitting the shelves, Newcastle United gives gamers some young players to pursue.

One of the best days in a soccer fan’s year, this year’s edition of FIFA is available. Before the game’s release, we discussed the Newcastle United player ratings at the time. Now, with FIFA 18 being out to the public, gamers will dive into their favorite game modes. If you’re into the manager career mode like I am, you will be searching high and low for young players to add to your team to build for the future. Here are five young Newcastle United players you consider:

*Disclaimer* Ratings are based on the latest FIFA roster updates and only players under 23 years old are being considered.

Freddie Woodman: The U-21 English national team shot stopper is a good pickup for a developmental project. He’s only 20 years old and is already a 62 overall despite no playing time at the top few flights of English soccer. He’s cheap to acquire and possesses a 61 rating on reactions.

More from Newcastle Toons

Yasin Ben El-Mhanni: The 21 year old may be the biggest hidden gem from the Magpies’ roster. Known for his flashy skills on the ball, Ben El-Mhanni boasts a 76 rating dribbling and four out of five stars on skill moves. He’s also four stars with his weak foot, which is rare. He’s a 78 speed, which goes along with an acceleration rating of 79 and 78 agility. His overall is 56.

Rolando Aarons: Unlike the previous two players, Aarons isn’t a young prospect. He’s been successful for the club in the Premier League before, but has battled injuries. The winger is still only 21 years old and can be a dangerous player on the outside. His ball control is rated 77 and his crossing is a 72. He did get shortchanged a bit on his pace, but is still an 83 speed. He does have the “Injury Prone” trait assigned to him, but he’s quick and can help in the attack.

Mikel Merino: The latest rockstar for the Magpies is only 21 years old. Virtual Merino, like his real life counter part, is very well rounded. He has no attribute in the red category, the worst color a rating can be. His long passing is currently a 74 and will be guaranteed to rise with his current EPL form.

Isaac Hayden: If you’re looking for a quality defensive midfielder, Hayden may be your guy. The former Arsenal man. He’s strong, with a strength of 78 and has a 75 rating on aggression. He’s only 22 years old and plays at a position that’s key to any FIFA club’s success.
