When Danny Simpson left Newcastle United to play football with Queens Park Rangers, neither Toon fans nor the player could have imagined him winning the league.

Now the Magpies are down the wrong end of the table, while the Manchester United graduate is celebrating the most remarkable sporting achievement in Premier League history.

Oh, and Roy Hodgson surely has to look at all of Leicester’s English players for a Euro 2016 place?
