Newcastle fans react to Danny Simpson winning the league

Former Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson has won the Premier League with Leicester City.

The Foxes clinched the title with two games to spare thanks to Chelsea drawing 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur in an ill tempered game.

Spurs opened the scoring, and raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to strikes from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min – before Gary Cahill and a peach from Eden Hazard brought scores level.

Simpson has formed the backbone of a side who have only let in 34 goals all campaign, starting 28 times in the right back position.

After playing 138 times for the Mapgies over a five year period, the 29-year-old joined Queens Park Rangers on a free transfers.
