Newcastle United pulled off an excellent win against Crystal Palace in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
It was a day where everything went right for the Magpies, despite Jack Colback’s miss, as they clawed their way out of the relegation zone. A fantastic free kick from Andros Townsend was enough to seal all three points for the home side.
Former Tyneside favourite Yohan Cabaye has a penalty saved by third choice goalkeeper Karl Darlow as Rafa Benitez’s side came away from the encounter with all three points.
Speaking after the game, Benitez was reported by the BBC as saying: “The victory means a lot – it gives us momentum, confidence and a connection with the fans.

“Hopefully it will be the same against Tottenham when we can avoid relegation and everyone will be happy.
“The free-kick was fantastic and the penalty save. I was really pleased for them. Hopefully Karl does not need to save any more until the end of the season.”
