That will be bad news for Georginio Wijnaldum, whose poor form has seen him dropped behind Ayoze Perez for the role in behind the striker.

However, the Dutch attacker did have a very positive cameo when he was introduced late in the game on Tuesday – and Benitez will be hoping for the same sort of impact on Saturday.
Speaking before the game, the Chronicle reported that the Spaniard said: “Competition between players is really important. Gini & Jonjo’s reactions have been good. But it is positive for the team.
“Anita and Tiote have been examples. Like Smicer at Liverpool, these players not playing much have to be ready to contribute later.”
