Newcastle United play Manchester City on Tuesday at St. James’ Park.

The game comes just three days after the Magpies defeated Swansea City 3-0 on their home turf, thanks to goals from Jamaal Lascelles, Moussa Sissoko and Andros Townsend.

Manual Pellegrini’s side are also going into the fixture off the back of a good win, having beaten Chelsea by the same score line during the late kick off on Saturday.

He is likely to rest several key players before their Champions League game against Real Madrid, but City will have enough strength in depth to cause the Magpies a few problems.

Speaking before the game, the Chronicle reported that Toon manager Rafa Benitez said: “There are some knocks but they will be fine. We still don’t have Coloccini and Janmaat. Mbabu is very close.

“I still don’t have the team decided so you can keep guessing for another day.”
