Newcastle United suffered from a defensive horror show as they lost 5-1 against Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League.
The Magpies found themselves 3-0 down after 17 minutes, thanks to a series of defensive errors and ill discipline on the ball allowed the home side to swoop to an irreversible advantage barely a quarter of the way through the game.
Spanish double act Pedro and Diego Costa scored the first two, while Brazilian Willian swept home the third after Costa played him in for a tap in.

Pedro then added a fourth just before the 60th minute mark, and Bertrand Traore became the first player from Burkino Faso to net in the Premier League when he added the fifth after 83 minutes.
Andros Townsend swept home a consolation strike for Newcastle after 90 minutes – it was his first goal for the club, but it won’t have brought any happiness to the player.
