Newcastle United are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berhaino

Local newspaper the Shields Gazette reported that the Magpies are interested in bringing the wantaway striker to St. James’ Park during the January transfer window.

Berahino has hardly featured for the Baggies this season after falling out with the club chairman, Jeremy Peace, and manager Tony Pulis.

The English striker has only scored four goals in all competitions for the Hawthorns side this season, and has only started eight league games all season.

After making his breakthrough with West Brom, Berahino has seen his stock fall after his conduct during the summer when Tottenham Hotspur were keen on making a move.

The Baggies academy graduate hit 14 goals in 32 starts during the 2014/2015 campaign.
