Newcastle United played our an unlikely 3-3 draw against Manchester United.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Paul Dummett scored for the Magpies, with a Wayne Rooney double and Jesse Lingard hitting the back of the net for the Red Devils.

The game was supposed to be a snooze fest: both sides had been short of goals, but has been relatively tight at the back.

However, Louis van Gaal’s men were back to their attacking best – and the St. James’ Park side matched them goal for goal.

After the away side went 2-0 up, thanks to a penalty from Rooney and a fine finish from Lingard, many of the Toon Army would have feared the worst.

However the side showed good character to come from behind twice to earn a vital point.
