Fans react to Jonjo Shelvey transfer news

Newcastle  United have signed Jonjo Shelvey from Swansea City on a £12m deal.

The midfielder is the second player to join the Magpies during the transfer window, after Bordeaux allowed winger/midfielder Henri Saivet to complete a £4.5m move on Monday evening.

The club confirmed the transfer news just before the team were due to kick off against Manchester United on Tuesday evening, and they said they will parade both players to the fans before kick off.

Many fans hope the moves are the first of many, as owner Mike Ashley has begun to splash the cash in order to escape relegation from the Premier League.

Although a proven goalscorer is still required, but now there should be enough ammunition from midfield to supply the forwards.
