Newcastle United lost to Everton in the Boxing Day fixture thanks to a last second winner from Tom Cleverly.

The former Manchester United midfielder headed home the winner after Rob Elliot punched clear at a corner, in an action that would prove to be the last meaningful one of the game.

In a largely equal affair, the Toffies had the best of the play but the home side had the best chances – which Aleksandar Mitrovic and Georginio Wijnaldum missed.
