Newcastle United vs Norwich City normally delivers fairly dull matches. The last five meetings between the sides have only delivered five goals and three results, with the other two games being 0-0 draws.

The last time these two sides met in the league was in January 2014, and they played out a 0-0 draw at Carrow Road. The fixture before that, the Magpies won 2-1, while you have to go back to 2011 to find a fixture that delivered more than three goals.

With both sides eager for points, but desperate not to lose, expect Saturday to be a very uninspiring 1-0 win either way.

Newcastle will be missing a number of players, such as goalkeeper Tim Krul and midfielder Jack Colback – while Dutch international Daryl Janmaat is expected back from injury. Papiss Cisse, too, will return and head coach Steve McLaren has said that he will play some role in the game.

Meanwhile, the Canaries will miss Lewis Grabban, Gary Hooper and Youssuf Mulumbu.
