Honourable Mentions: Siem De Jong/Florian Thauvin

Siem De Jong has endured a horrible 12 months. After a series of injuries decimated his first season with Newcastle United, the Dutch international will have forgotten any thoughts of making it into the national squad.

However, the Netherlands might not even make the tournament thanks to a dreadful qualifying campaign. Even so, De Jong will want to have a strong season to put his name back in contention.

Florian Thauvin has been the next big thing for so long that it’s amazing to find out that he doesn’t have a single senior French cap.

After a disappointing start to his Newcastle career, Thauvin will need to step up to the level that so many have hoped he could achieve. If he does that, the new signing might just be an outside chance to make the France Euro 2016 squad.
