Newcastle United haven’t had the best time of it when it comes to youngsters being struck down with injury.

Rolando Aarons made a big impact in a short amount of time, before being hit with persistent problems.

Now Kevin Mbabu is also set to spend some time on the treatment table after two hugely encouraging performances against Chelsea and Mancheter City.

The thing is, this isn’t a new thing. All clubs have injury problems, and all players have to deal with them over time. Unfortunately, it can stall or stop a youngster progress up the career ladder, and the Magpies are no exception for this.

Often, the mentality of the footballer will dictate how they come back from injury, but for some the road is too long and the injuries too numerous to get over.

The latest injury to Mbabu means that Newcastle now have three left-backs out of the side, while Dutch international Daryl Janmaat has been ruled out of their upcoming games as a precaution.
