So far in the 2024/25 campaign, although the English international has 2 goals in his 8 PL appearances, not much worse than his last campaign start, Gordon has struggled to be consistently convincing in his role. While many speculated his Newcastle future contract talks to be a potential reason for the winger's form dip, recently, Gordon himself revealed that it was not the case.

After signing his contract renewal recently, Gordon cleared that it wasn't in any way related to his future club speculation, but rather it was due to fitness issues. Gordon mentioned,
