Premier League clubs interested in acquiring Newcastle's veteran star
- Premier League clubs are interested in acquiring Newcastle's veteran star Callum Wilson.
- Though there is much time left in the January window, Newcastle might be willing to sell Wilson.
Newcastle United had a quite underwhelming summer transfer window. Failing to bring in key reinforcements such as a prolific center back and a wing prodigy, the club cost significantly on their season roster strength. However, still, the club's requirements haven't changed, as they still target a right winger and a center-back for the upcoming transfer window.

But, as things stand, Newcastle is reported to prioritize a right-wing signing, being aware of ace defender Sven Botman's return in the new year. But, while the club has its priorities set for the upcoming winter transfer window, surprisingly, reports suggest that PL rival clubs have shown interest in signing a veteran Magpies star in January.
As per reports from The Sun, Toon star forward Callum Wilson is targeted by four Premier League clubs for a January move. While Fulham, Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Brentford are being reported to be interested in the forward's signature, Brentford seems to have moved into the pole position for the veteran star.
Clearly, no one can doubt Wilson's ability when he's fit, but given that the 32-year-old still remains sidelined due to injury concerns, the interest in him is a bit surprising. Being still preparing for a return after the next international break, the increasing interest in the forward, who hasn't featured for more than 5 months now, is clearly a bit shocking.
However, from Newcastle's perspective, a potential deal could be very favorable in the club's interest, who have been uncertain about renewing him further. While there remains no doubt over his forward play abilities, Wilson's injury concerns have been a regular headache for the Magpies club, and thus, the club might not hesitate for his sale, which could help them in PSR regulations.
Currently, further updates on any talks between the player's entourage and the interested buyers are yet to arrive, but a potential sale could be beneficial for Newcastle. While scenarios could change in the matter of the time left in the January window, the Magpies club might be willing to depart him if things remain as present.
