The Financial Fair Play restrictions have become the biggest hurdle for Newcastle as they failed to do any business in January. Also, the chances of doing anything significant for the Magpies look slim unless we sell some of our key players. That is why players like Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff, Alexander Isak, and many others are linked away from St. James' Park. With Dan Ashworth leaving for Manchester United, the task of Eddie Howe will become tougher. However, there is light behind the tunnel for the Magpies as Newcastle United have found a potential replacement for Dan Ashworth who could become a key factor in turning around the fortune of the club in terms of transfers. Newcastle fans are tired of the FFP because due to these restrictions, the Magpies failed in the transfer market. Also, it will be catastrophic for the project of Eddie Howe if he has to sell the players who are the core of this project. However, while speaking to i news, Tiago Pinto, the man tipped to replace Ashworth said this about the matter;

"To me FFP is not an enemy. It’s something that influences your work but it’s not an obstacle to your work. We need to look at it globally. To protect the global business of football you need rules, you need sustainability.

I’m not against it. I think as an instrument it can help football be more sustainable in the future. I think FFP is needed, it’s something we cannot avoid.

It stimulates your creativity, team work inside your club because you need to work with different figures to get to the settlement agreement."
