RW - Miguel Almiron: He's been getting his fair share of stick in recent weeks and rightly so since he hasn't finished his chances. This is the perfect game to put those doubters to rest though, a good performance would win us over again.

CF - Alexander Isak: The Mackem slayer is returning to St James Park to hopefully become the Manc slayer. The Wilson injury doesn't affect things since Isak should be starting these games anyway, he is our best attacking option and our best chance of getting on the score sheet early in this match.

LW - Anthony Gordon: He's becoming the first name on the team sheet and this will remain the case even when players return from injury. Gordon provides an insane dribbling ability to the team but his standout feature is his work-rate, which he will need against this rampan City side.
