Predicted Newcastle lineup vs Fulham: Eddie Howe needs a big Premier League result
By Kian Long
After the Champions League heartbreak in midweek, Newcastle United are in desperate need of three points to bolster a race for top four again this season. The December schedule comes thick and fast, so Eddie Howe only has two full days between each match to prepare. With that in mind, here's the predicted Newcastle lineup vs Fulham this weekend.
Predicted Newcastle lineup vs Fulham
GK: Martin Dubravka - Starting off in goal and it's Martin Dubravka. To be honest, he doesn't fill me with confidence between the sticks as he seems to concede much more than he saves, which is an unpleasant change from the injured Pope. Still, he's Howe's best option.
RB: Tino Livramento - Tino will start on the right in this match as Kieran Trippier is suspended. He's a great player who's having a good breakout season. He didn't have much joy in midweek, but he'll be confident returning to domestic football this weekend.
CB: Jamaal Lascelles - Lascelles put in a good shift in midweek and held his own against Olivier Giroud - A performance he'll have to replicate against the rampant Fulham attack who are in rich goal scoring form.
CB: Fabian Schar - Schar will be required to mop up defensively as he will be aware of the form Fulham's attack are in. With Botman nearing a return, he could join his usual defensive partner in the coming weeks.
LB: Dan Burn - It was great to see BDB back in action in midweek as I'm sure Eddie Howe had him in mind for this match. He might not be fit enough to play the entire match but he should definitely start. We've missed him.
