Remember Newcastle transfer target Hugo Ekitike? West Ham have just snubbed him

We are still waiting to confirm any Newcastle transfer made in the January transfer window. Yes, we are in the final week of the window but Eddie Howe has found it hard to secure a new signing for the Geordies this month. Hopefully, we will have some positive news to report on soon but for the time being, I think fans will collectively burst out laughing when they're reminded of Hugo Ekitike.

See, Newcastle had the perfect opportunity to land Hugo Ekitike and he was a long-time Newcastle transfer target. In fact, if I recall correctly, we tried on two seperate occasions to sign him and looked like the front-runners to sign him on both occasions. In the end, though, the attacker ended up joining Paris Saint-Germain.

Usually, this would have been a big move for any French footballer but as karma would have it, he ended up playing second fiddle to a pretty rampant PSG attack which comprised of Mbappe, Neymar AND Messi. Why he ever thought he would get in ahead of one of the best trios of all time blows my mind, but alas, here we are.

Having only signed for PSG permanently in the summer just gone, the Parisians are already wanting to get rid of him. However, according to a hilarious report from Newcastle World, West Ham have recently said no to the opportunity of bringing him to London. Oh, how the tables have turned.

Ekitike hasn't made a single league start for PSG this season, so it's no wonder they are looking to cash in on him. It's also much less of a surprise that teams competing in Europe want nothing to do with him.
