Newcastle transfer news: Kalvin Phillips agent could help him move away from Man City

According to the journalist Ed Aarons, the agents of Kalvin Phillips have stepped in to persuade Man City to budge on their stance with regard to including a loan fee. It is hoped that this would encourage Premier League sides to make a move for Phillips, who had previously been put off by the unnecessary loan fee.

You have to say fair enough to Man City. Although they have all the money in the world, they also have no reason to let go of their player. Therefore, while we may question the morality of including a loan fee which could prevent Phillips from making the England squad for EURO 2024, they aren't in a position to let him go easily to a league rival.

I do hope that the involvement of Phillips' agents, though, will help the club to realise that the best way to ensure the happiness of their player is to be less stubborn in the transfer window.
