Up until this point midway through the January transfer window, the Newcastle transfer news has been quite mellow. Newcastle transfer news: Joelinton names his dream Eddie Howe signing at Real Madrid

When the versatile Brazilian was asked by That's Football who he would like to bring to Newcastle, he went with one of his countrymen who had never played in the Premier League, but is currently one of the best players in world football - Vinicius Junior.

“That is a tough question, Paqueta or Vinicius Jr he’s a lovely guy as well.”

Know what I say? Give Joelinton a shot at calling the transfers. I like his aspiration and when the stupid FFP rules which only serve to benefit big clubs finally cease to exist, we should fulfil Joe's wish.

Vinicius Junior is a cracking player and widely tipped to live up to either of the Ronaldo's legacy at Real Madrid. While I don't think we have any chance of signing him, we can sit back and enjoy his magical skills from afar.

Those who keep up with European football and the biggest fixture in the world, will have watched Vinicus defy all odds by scoring a first-half hat-trick against Barcelona. He played excellently in that match and really showed the current gap between the two Spanish giants.

So, as much as I admire Joelinton's optimism and hope we can sign players of this calibre in the near future, I'm going to have to burst the bubble for the time being. Or not?
