According to Football Transfers, Eddie Howe has become interested in the summer signing of Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United. The 22-year-old Netherlands winger has been a standout performer in the Champiosnhip this season, hence the interest from Premier League clubs Liverpool and Newcastle United.
Summerville has experience in the Premier League, just last season. He was one of the young Leeds United stars who served as their diamond in the rough last campaign when they were relegated from the top flight.
Rather than letting the relegation beat him down, Summerville has embraced his season in the Championship and has been one of the best players in the league this season. As per Transfermarkt, he has returned an impressive 17 goals and provided eight assists in 38 Championship appearances.
He could be exactly what Newcastle United need since he has the ability to play on both flanks. Needless to say, his best position is on the left-wing but he can also play as a right-forward if required. Given Newcastle's poor injury record with wingers this season, they could have done with the services of Summerville from the summer transfer window.
Summerville runs out of contract at Leeds United in the summer of 2026, hence why they were in no rush to sell him amid their relegation to the Championship. Currently, Leeds are third in the table, but the top of the table is just as tight as it is in the Premier League.
Leeds are within touching distance of promotion, whether it be through automatic promotion or the play-offs. Indeed, they are among the favourites to come straight back up.
