Newcastle's start to the 2024/25 campaign has been superb from the perspective of results; however, Howe's side has looked much away from convincing. While the defense force stood out in the club's overall performance, the club's concern has been controlling the game from the front, but now it seems that this issue will be resolved soon.
Newcastle receives a massive boost as 18-year-old talented prodigy set to return soon
Given the recent performances of Newcastle stars, be it Sandro Tonali's masterclass show for Italy, Alexander Isak's brilliant run with Sweden, or Gordon's performance against Ireland, the Magpies players are hitting their top form recently. Moreover, with the recent update regarding the return of star prodigy midfielder Miley, things couldn't go more merrier for the Tyneside club.
Lewis Miley, breaking into Newcastle's senior team last campaign, had stood outstanding. Possessing brilliant game awareness and the ability to control the game from the middle of the park, the central midfielder had an impressive season. However, a major concern regarding the player has been injuries, which restricted him to only 27 appearances in his debut season and have currently kept him ruled out from July.
But the good news has finally arrived for Newcastle fans. Recently, during a Q&A session, The Athletic's journalist Chris Waugh revealed some major updates on Miley's return. He mentioned that after undergoing surgery for a broken metatarsal, the 18-year-old is showing significant progress and could return in October.
Further, Chris Waugh indicated that the youngster's return could be possible after the October international break. As indicated by the reports, Lewis Miley would miss some key fixtures, including the games against Manchester City and Everton, but Newcastle fans would be more than pleased to see him back for the club.
While, unlike the last season's scenario, it is much more likely that he would have to fight for a place in the playing XI, with the priority three being Captain Guimaraes, Joelinton, and the sensational Sandro Tonali. Given the kind of form Tonali has been, he would be an undisputed starter, making it challenging for Miley's game time.
Overall, Miley's return is expected to be after the October international break. Though this time, the youngster would need to fight for a place in the XI much more, the Newcastle fans believe in him and that he would surely play a key role in the club's long season ahead.
