Finishing fifth in the Premier League
If Newcastle United finish fifth in the Premier League table, they will qualify for the UEFA Europa League group stages.
Finishing sixth in the Premier League
Currently, Newcastle United sit sixth in the Premier League table.
If Newcastle United finish the season in sixth place, they could still qualify for the UEFA Europa League, on one condition. This condition is that the winners of the English FA Cup have already qualified for UEFA competition through their league position. Only then would Newcastle finishing sixth qualify them for UEL.
If Newcastle United finish sixth in the Premier League table and the winners of the English FA Cup have not yet qualified for UEFA competition through their league position, then Newcastle will qualify for the Europa Conference League playoffs instead.
Finishing seventh in the Premier League table
If Newcastle United finish seventh in the Premier League, they will qualify for the Europa Conference League playoffs if the winners of the Carabao Cup have not qualified for UEFA through their league position. Seventh will not qualify for Europe if sixth becomes the Europa Conference League playoffs spot.
