Newcastle player ratings vs Man City: 4th loss in a row for Eddie Howe
It was heartbreak in the end for the Magpies as Manchester City won at St. James' Park due to a late goal from Oscar Bobb. Before the arrival of Kevin De Bryune and after taking the lead through Anthony Gordon, Newcastle fans thought that the game was there to be won. It wasn't the best performance from Manchester City and Newcastle could have easily punished them. Moreover, one can say that Newcastle were the better side in this game. However, still, Eddie Howe had to see his side going down for the fourth time in as many games in the Premier League. So, how did Newcastle players play in this game? Here is the Newcastle player ratings vs Man City.
Newcastle player ratings vs Man City - Premier League
Newcastle player ratings: Defence
GK: Martin Dubravka (7.5/10) - Dubravka had nothing to do with the goals that City scored, although he could have done better with the De Druyna goal. He did make some fantastic saves. Unlikely to be on the losing side in this game as Dubravka did have a decent game.
RB: Kieran Trippier (6.5/10) - The battle between Trippier and Doku was wonderful to see as Trippier came out on top on most occasions. It was a good performance from trippier both going forward and defensively. However, as a fan of Trippier, you would always expect a bit more from him.
CB: Fabian Schar (7.5/10) - The Swiss international was brilliant in this game. He wasn't very comfortable at the start of the game. However, as the game progressed, Schar became a bit more comfortable and was a calming figure in Newcastle's defence.
CB: Sven Botman (6.5/10) - The Dutch centre-back was amazing in this game as he game his all for the badge. He did take some time to get used to the pace of the game and once he did, he gave all. It was a brave performance from Botman and every Newcastle fan would admire it.
LB: Dan Burn (6/10) - It was frustrating to see Dan Burn arguing with City's players after their opening goal. He was caught out and at fault for that goal. However, he did make up with the assist for Anthony Gordon's goal which gave the Magpies the lead in this game.
