Newcastle player ratings: Attack
LW: Miguel Almiron (7.5/10) – The Paraguayan international started the game on the left and was looking lively. He gave his everything as he was getting into good positions. Miguel Almiron was passing the ball well and linking up with others as well. Overall, it was a better performance from the 29-year-old.
- SUB: Harvey Barnes (7/10) - Eddie Howe subbed Miguel Almiron for Harvey Barnes and Newcastle fans cheered him on. He got the equalizer and the 4th goal for the Magpies. So, his first appearance after the injury is a successful one. He also could have scored a winner.
ST: Anthony Gordon (6.5/10) – Alexander Isak's injury forced Anthony Gordon to start as the striker. His raw pace was troubling Luton's defence. He could have got a goal however, Longstaff capitalized on that chance to score his 2nd goal. At the end of the first half, Eddie Howe substituted him.
- SUB: Callum Wilson (5/10) - Eddie Howe had to bring on a proper striker and he had Callum Wilson on the bench. So, at the start of the second half, Eddie Howe brought him on and he played his part. It was a decent return for Wilson but a goal would have made it perfect for him.
RW: Jacob Murphy (6/10) – Without any doubt, Murphy looked threatening with his pace. However, as a winger, his job was to provide for his striker. Thus, the end result was not there. So, it was not a performance to be proud of. He truly needs to step up if he wants to cement his place in the starting lineup for the Magpies.
