Newcastle once again suffered an away defeat in the Premier League this time in the hands of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge by 2-3. With this loss, securing European football next season becomes even tougher for the Magpies. So, how did Howe’s players perform in this Chelsea vs Newcastle game? Let’s start the Newcastle player ratings vs Chelsea in their 2-3 loss in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka (5/10) had a poor night in goal which is against his run of form. Tino Livramento (5/10) did put some crosses but lacked lot defensively. Fabian Schar (4/10) could have prevented the first goal and also, he was unsure position wise. Sven Botman (3/10) looked out of position and confused whenever Chelsea players were around the six-yard box. Dan Burn (4/10) was slow as Cole Palmer kept dominating him throughout the game.  

In the midfield, Sean Longstaff (3/10) was invisible as usual and let Chelsea dominate the midfield. Bruno Guimaraes (5/10) played with his heart out and got booked and now just a booking away from suspension. Joe Willock (4/10) couldn’t create much of an impact in the game which was disappointing as a lot is expect from him. Anthony Gordon (4/10) played for just 36 minutes as he got a knock as was subbed off for Jacob Murphy. Alexander Isak (6/10)* was the player of the match from Newcastle as he was clinical and kept Chelsea defenders vigilant with his presence. Miguel Almiron (4/10) ran around a lot but he had no impact in the game.

When it comes to the substitutes for the Magpies in this Chelsea vs Newcastle game, Howe brought on Jacob Murphy (6/10) for Gordon in the 36th minute of the game and scored a brilliant goal right at the end. In the 69th minute of the game, Howe brought on Emile Krafth (4/10) to replace Dan Burn and he could have done better to prevent the third goal. At the same time, Elliot Anderson (3/10) came on to replace Miguel Almiron which he didn’t have much of an impact either. Willock made way for Lewis Miley (5/10) at the 80th minute as the youngster played with his heart out. At the same time, Guimaraes made way for Joe White (3/10) as the 21-year-old tried his best. For the manager Eddie Howe (4/10), he will not be happy as he succumbed to another defeat away from home and the injury to Anthony Gordon will elevate his head and injury list.
