It could be a busy transfer window for Newcastle United with only ten days remaining before the summer transfer window closes. Currently, the Magpies have sent their fourth bid for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi as they look to bolster their defence. On top of that, Premier League side Everton are interested in signing Newcastle United's right back Kieran Trippier.
Recently, the Magpies are linked with a young and versatile Argentina star who can play in the midfield as a box to box midfielder and as a creative playmaker as well. The player is Olympiacos midfielder Santiago Hezze. According to Caught Offside, Eddie Howe's side have inquired Olympiacos to sign the 22-year-old in this transfer window.
Newcastle considering signing young Argentina star
Hezze joined Olympiacos in 2023, and in his debut season made 51 appearances for the Greece club contributing four goals as well. His impressive performances led him to feature for Argentina in the Paris Olympic 2024, where he played three matches. Hezze has four years remaining on his Olympiacos contract, and is valued at around £10 million.
Newcastle need a young midfielder who can help the Magpies keep more possession of the game. Hezze is a versatile midfielder and with his pace and great passing helps in creating several chances for the forwards. Alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton in midfield, Hezze can help Newcastle in defence as well as the build up play to score more goals.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the Magpies sign Hezze in this transfer window. Meanwhile, Newcastle are trying to sign a new centre back and will face Bournemouth in the second Premier League match.
