Newcastle is ready to face Wolves in an away fixture at the Molineux Stadium on their 4th Premier League matchday. Considering that the Magpies club hasn't been overperforming to their level best despite getting the results so far, it is certain they would need to change it as they steer in the later stages of the season.
For Newcastle, their game against Wolves could be the best morale booster, considering their star players, Sandro Tonali, Alexander Isak, and Anthony Gordon, returning from a superb international break. On top of that, the Wolves have looked quite faded this far, having a single point from their first three games and being a considerably easy opponent. On that note, here's a look at how Eddie Howe could line his side against the Wolves:
Goalkeeper and Defense
While the Englishman Nick Pope, who has been outstanding so far, surely starts in the goal for Newcastle, it might be difficult to predict Howe's defense line. Starting with the full-backs, as has been the scenario so far, Tino Livramento is supposed to get a start ahead of veteran Kieran despite the 33-year-old pushing for a chance.
In the center-back role, Schar might get his spot back, being back from his suspension. Alongside him, Dan Burn will continue considering Krafth's injury niggle on the international break. On the left back position, Kelly could be Howe's starter despite Halls' heroics for England U21, and the latter could be utilized as a super sub by Newcastle boss Howe.
Midfield
In Newcastle's midfield, there is a possibility of a significant change, with Italy star Sandro Tonali returning to the starter role after being in a brilliant run recently. But Howe giving yet another start to Longstaff can't be ruled out, considering the player's performances being up to mark this far.
Filling in the rest two places would be the duo of Newcastle Captain Bruno Guimaraes and the stormy midfield prospect for Newcastle, Joelinton. While Guimaraes didn't enjoy a decent run for Brazil in the break, the 26-year-old ace would want to change things around as he returns to don Newcastle's jersey.
Attack
As was the attack force lined up in the club's last fixture, against Tottenham, chances are that Howe sticks with the same against Wolves. With both Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon returning from a brilliant international break for Sweden and England, respectively, hopes would be high for them to continue that way.
Moreover, considering Harvey Barnes' performances for the club this season, he starts as a no-brainer for the Magpies side. Apart from being involved in 2 goal contributions, including the go-ahead goal against Tottenham, Barnes has been critical for Howe's side with his presence in the club's attacking force. Thus, with the front three being in form, Newcastle fans would hope for the club to bag the complete 3 points against Wolves.
