"Flat as a pancake" Pundits' Luton vs Newcastle prediction is bad news for Eddie Howe

Newcastle United return to Premier League action this weekend as they face Luton at Kenilworth Road. Given the form of Eddie Howe's side, fans aren't feeling as confident heading into this match especially since we've been dumped out of two competitions in the past couple of weeks. That said, Premier League pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have submitted their Luton vs Newcastle predictions.

"Flat as a pancake" Pundits' Luton vs Newcastle prediction is bad news for Eddie Howe
As per the Stick to Football podcast (via Geordie Boot Boys), both pundits unanimously agreed that it wasn't looking good for Newcastle in this match, with Gary Neville describing Eddie Howe's side as "flat as a pancake" and Carragher going for a Luton 1-0 Newcastle scoreline.
Yikes - While you can take predictions with a pinch of salt, it really goes to show that we aren't half the team we were last season. You could easily put this down to the injury crisis as it hasn't been easy for Eddie Howe given the tight fixture schedule, but we have to be beating Luton.
And I don't mean that as a disrespect to the newly promoted side as they have a great squad and they've played well against some top teams this season. But they're in the relegation zone for a reason, it would be our worst result for a long time if we don't manage to beat them this weekend.
In my Luton vs Newcastle preview (see below), I was feeling more confident than Carragher and Neville, but maybe this is my bias showing through. When neutrals are looking at this game as an easy home win, fingers must be pointed at Eddie Howe to prove them wrong. I hope they're wrong.
