Ahead of the summer transfer window, Newcastle United have some big decisions to make. They are expected to be active in the transfer market, but to do so, they must first consider player exits. Thankfully for Eddie Howe, some decisions are easier to make than others, particularly when it comes to these 3 Newcastle United players with contracts expiring in 2024.

3 Newcastle United players with contracts expiring in 2024

1. Loris Karius

Having already made the decision to leave Newcastle United last month, Loris Karius is set to find another club in the summer transfer window. He will leave Newcastle on a free deal, as his contract expires this summer.

Loris Karius has served as an adequate back-up goalkeeper but not much beyond this. In fact, he has made just one Premier League experience since signing in 2022.

2. Matt Ritchie

Matt Ritchie is a long-serving Newcastle United player but the chances are, he's kicked his last ball as a Newcastle player. Having been at the club since 2016, Ritchie is more than likely going to leave St James Park this summer, as he is out of contract without an offer of extension.

During his eight year stint as Newcastle attacker, Ritchie has made 187 league appearances, scoring 20 goals. He was part of the team which saw Newcastle won the Championship in 2017.

3. Paul Dummett

Paul Dummett is, without a doubt, a Newcastle United legend. Serving as a one-club player to this point in his career, the defender has represented Newcastle in their first team for an impressive 14 years.

Dummett, like Ritchie, won the EFL Championship in 2017. However, as per Chronicle Live, Eddie Howe may have suggested that Dummett has played his last match, as there is no contract offer on the table for him.
