Newcastle United are heading into the summer with a clear plan, build, don’t break.
After a season filled with injuries, dramatic comebacks, and flashes of top-level promise, Eddie Howe’s squad is being viewed as one of the most exciting in the Premier League.
And now, some of the biggest clubs in Europe are circling. The aim this summer is simple: keep the core group together.
There’s interest in several players, but Newcastle are not looking to offload anyone crucial, especially not to a direct rival.
One position that’s drawn attention is full-back, where Newcastle have found real quality and depth.
Injuries forced Howe to rotate constantly this season, and in the process, a young talent stood out across both flanks.
Newcastle United set huge price for Manchester City target
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tino Livramento is at the top of Man City’s list as they search for a new right-back this summer.
Pep Guardiola’s side is keen to bring in a natural full-back after struggling in that role for much of the 2024–25 campaign.
Livramento has been excellent for Newcastle since joining from Southampton in 2023.
Despite mainly being a right-back, he stepped in on the left side multiple times this season and never looked out of place.
He’s quick, smart, and calm under pressure, everything you want in a modern full-back.
But Newcastle are not entertaining any easy talks. The Magpies have made it clear they won’t let Tino Livramento go cheaply.
With three years left on his contract and an original fee of around £32 million, the club are set to demand well over double that amount if City push forward.
It’s a clear message: Newcastle are not a selling club anymore, not to Man City, and not to anyone.
