Newcastle United have to be smart this transfer window as we prepare for a crucial period in the club’s history.

After ending out trophy drought last season, the Magpies are aiming to become a powerhouse of English football that every fan dreamt of when PIF tookover the club.

And a big part of that plan is adding more attacking quality to the squad. We need attacking depth because we have a handful of reliable names who can deliver on the big stages.

Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, and Jacob Murphy are forwards we can rely on.

But, in a long season, these players need rest so that they can stay fresh for the big Premier League games and Champions League nights.

With Bryan Mbeumo now heading to Manchester United, the club have been forced to look elsewhere for reinforcements.

Eddie Howe knows his side lacked depth in wide areas last season, especially when injuries piled up.

The need for a fresh, creative winger is clear. Newcastle have money to spend.

However, they also need to be smart balancing big signings with Financial Fair Play rules and a carefully managed wage structure.

That’s where things get tricky, especially when targeting players who’ve been at elite clubs on high salaries. Still, there’s one name that now stands out.

According to SportsBoom, Jadon Sancho is being lined up as a potential summer signing for Newcastle United.

The 25-year-old is another name added to the long list of wingers that Eddie Howe is targeting. And, you will know other names as well if you were following Newcastle transfer news recently.

Sancho is keen to stay in the Premier League after returning from his loan spell with Chelsea.

And with his future at Manchester United is over with Ruben Amorim looking to offload the winger, Newcastle believe they could offer him a fresh start at St James’ Park.

The England international would bring pace, flair, and creativity exactly what Howe’s side needs on the wings. But there’s a catch.

While the reported transfer fee of around £25 million wouldn’t be a problem for Newcastle, Sancho’s wages, reportedly around £250,000 a week, are far beyond the club’s current top earners.

To make this move happen, Newcastle would likely need to offload a few players first. That could include senior players whose futures at the club are uncertain.

If they manage that, Jadon Sancho could be the kind of marquee signing that signals their ambition ahead of another European campaign.

This one’s far from done but this Newcastle United transfer news is definitely the one to watch.
