Newcastle United are expected to be busy again this summer.

After a season filled with emotions, silverware, and Champions League qualification, Eddie Howe knows his squad needs a few fresh faces, especially in attack.

Injuries and fixture congestion made life tough for the Magpies, and with European football back on the horizon, strength in depth is a must.

The club are looking at players who can offer flexibility. Not just out-and-out strikers, but attackers who can fill multiple roles when needed.

Someone who can slot in as a forward, drift wide if required, or even link play from midfield.

It’s no surprise then that Newcastle are being linked with some high-profile names, especially ones looking for a fresh start after a tough year.

One target, in particular, is reportedly open to leaving his current club after a frustrating season.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle have joined the race to sign Christopher Nkunku. He was once one of the most exciting attackers in Europe.

The Frenchman moved to the Premier League with high expectations. However, he hasn’t hit top form yet due to injuries and limited minutes.

Christopher Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig but has struggled to stay fit and get regular playing time at Stamford Bridge.

But despite the setbacks, there’s still belief in his talent and Newcastle could give him the reset he needs.

However, there’s one big condition: a move for Nkunku is expected to depend on the future of Alexander Isak.

If Newcastle decide to cash in on their star striker this summer, it could open the door for Nkunku to come in.

At 27, he still has plenty to offer. And with his ability to play across the front line, he could be a smart addition for a Newcastle team aiming to challenge on all fronts next season.
