Newcastle United have to be really busy in the summer transfer window.

After a succesfully season that saw the Magpies clinch the Carabao Cup and guaratee a return to the Champions League, the club now have to strengthen the squad further.

With more games and higher expectations next season, there’s no room for gaps in quality or depth. For us fans, the upcoming season must be better than the previous one. We need to fight for the Premier League next season.

One area that needs attention is the striker position. Alexander Isak is expected to stay despite reported interest from top clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal.

But with Callum Wilson’s contract nearing its end, Newcastle will need a reliable backup option for the Swedish international.

Eddie Howe wants a forward who can not only cover Isak but also push him for a starting place when needed.

The club had looked at Ipswich striker Liam Delap, but with Delap signing for Chelsea, plans need to be revamped.

Now, Newcastle are looking for alternative and there is one name that is emerging from Italy.

According to TBR Football, Tammy Abraham has been offered to Newcastle United.

The English striker is expected to leave AS Roma this summer after falling out of favour, even though he had a decent loan spell at AC Milan in the 2024-25 season.

Abraham, who previously played for Chelsea and has Premier League experience, could fit well into Howe’s system.

At 27, he still has plenty to offer and knows the pace and physical demands of English football.

He wouldn’t come in as a guaranteed starter but could be a strong rotational option and a dependable goal threat off the bench.

Eddie Howe can use Tammy Abraham as a starter for Carabao Cup games as well as some games of the initial rounds of the FA Cup.

It’s the kind of smart, calculated signing that suits Newcastle’s long-term strategy.

If the price is right, and the player is open to the move, this could turn out to be a very tidy piece of business for the Magpies.
