Gomes gained further recognition during his time with Brazil’s U17 team, where he played a pivotal role in a 3-0 victory over an England team featuring well-regarded prospects like Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Tottenham’s Archie Gray.

Notably, the game also included appearances from Real Madrid’s Endrick and West Ham’s Luis Guilherme, underscoring the competitive talent on display.

With his contract running until 2028, Gomes’ release clause is set at a considerable €120 million for non-Brazilian clubs. However, his current market valuation, according to Transfermarkt, is closer to €5 million, leaving room for negotiation.

Newcastle’s Chances of Meeting Sao Paulo’s Price

Brazilian journalist Paulo do Valle has confirmed via Sport Witness that Newcastle is actively “investigating the situation” surrounding Gomes.

Fellow journalist Elia Junior noted that while Newcastle’s budget may not rival clubs like Manchester City or Manchester United, it’s competitive with teams like Chelsea and Tottenham, thanks to substantial investment from the club’s ownership.

If the Magpies can secure a deal, it would bolster their lineup with a highly-rated youngster poised for a bright future on both the club and international stages. So, this Newcastle transfer news on William Gomes to Newcastle will be an interesting one to follow.
