Newcastle United is taking measures to ensure that Eddie Howe remains at the helm, especially in light of Manchester United's reported interest in the manager. The Red Devils recently hired sporting director Dan Ashworth from Newcastle, a move that left the Magpies disheartened.

Now, with uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United, Howe's name has emerged as a potential replacement. However, Newcastle is committed to keeping their manager, according to reports from Football Insider, which state that the club will "do everything" to prevent his departure.

Fortunately for Newcastle, Howe is under a long-term contract, which does not include a release clause, making any potential exit challenging and costly for Manchester United. The club is also reportedly considering Graham Potter as an alternative, given that he is currently unattached and would be easier to acquire.

Howe's commitment to Newcastle

Despite the interest from Manchester United, sources indicate that Howe is "content" in his role at Newcastle and is not seeking a move away. This satisfaction, however, is unlikely to dissuade Manchester United from attempting to approach him, although such efforts may ultimately be in vain.

Howe was reportedly dismayed at losing Ashworth to Manchester United, as the two had developed a strong working relationship during their time together at Newcastle. The presence of Ashworth at Old Trafford would certainly work in Howe’s favour should he ever consider a switch.

With Manchester United's upcoming match against Fenerbahce set to play a crucial role in determining Ten Hag's future, the situation remains fluid. However, Newcastle appears unconcerned about losing their manager anytime soon and does not expect to see Howe lining up in the Old Trafford dugout in the near future.
