Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is back. After missing last week’s trip to Villa Park due to pneumonia, the 47-year-old has returned to work and will be on the sidelines again on Saturday. His presence brings a much-needed boost as the Magpies look to respond from a 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa.
The injury list remains a major concern. Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles are still recovering from knee problems. Lewis Hall is also unavailable with a foot injury. And now, Fabian Schar is a doubt after feeling his hamstring during the defeat at Villa Park.

If Schar does not recover in time, Emil Krafth is expected to step into the centre-back role next to Dan Burn. Howe has limited defensive options, but the rest of the lineup should remain stable for this Newcastle vs Ipswich Town game.
Newcastle predicted lineup vs Ipswich Town - Premier League
Goalkeeper: Nick Pope
Back in goal after a difficult afternoon at Villa Park. The England international will be hoping for a quieter game this time against the league’s lowest scorers.
Right-back: Kieran Trippier
The Englishman remains a guaranteed starter. His delivery from wide areas will be key, and he is expected to provide the width down the right.
Centre-back: Emil Krafth
If Fabian Schar does not recover, Krafth will start. The Swede has filled in at centre-back before and will need to be alert against a physical front line.
Centre-back: Dan Burn
Will anchor the backline again. The left-sided centre-half has struggled at times this season but should be more comfortable at home.
Left-back: Tino Livramento
Continues to impress with his energy and defensive awareness. With Hall unavailable, Livramento should keep his place on the left side of defence.
Central midfield: Bruno Guimaraes
The heartbeat of the team. His passing range and ability to break the press will be vital in dictating the tempo.
Don't Miss! Newcastle want Liam Delap from Ipswich Town
Central midfield: Sandro Tonali
Slowly finding his rhythm after a lengthy ban. Tonali adds balance and composure in deeper areas and complements Bruno well.
Central midfield: Joelinton
Brings power and physicality. The Brazilian is key in transitions and could dominate the Ipswich midfield.
Right wing: Jacob Murphy
Despite being replaced by Gordon late on at Villa Park, Murphy should keep his place. He has been in strong form and will look to stretch the Ipswich defence.
Striker: Alexander Isak
Newcastle’s main man up front. The Swedish striker has scored 15 goals in 14 games against promoted sides and will lead the line again.
Left wing: Harvey Barnes
Has displaced Gordon in the starting XI and continues to deliver. His assist for Schar last week should earn him another start.
