Newcastle United's attacking options have already made an impression in these first five games of the season, with Joe Willock, Yoane Wissa and Jacob Ramsey all getting their opportunity in the numbr 10 role. But, add in the new arrival of Matias Fernandez Pardo, and Matthias Jaissle has an interesting dilemma on his hands.
Which of these players should go up front, and who should remain in behind the striker?
The Belgian wonderkid as the lone man up top?
Fernandez Pardo joined the club on deadline day and, whilst he hasn't started any games yet, he has made appearances off the bench, most notably against Bournemouth and Millwall.
What has stood out is his pace; he gets past defenders with ease and has the ability to stretch the opposition backline. In the Carabao Cup tie at The Den, he displayed what he can bring going forward, causing a lot of trouble for the opposition defence.
The Magpies want to play at pace under Jaissle, and Fernandez Pardo is perhaps the most interesting option as the focal point. His speed allows him to run beyond defenders, he can affect the game going forward, and his technical ability can bring others into play - even if his performance against Leeds may not have showed those qualities.
Best options as a No.10
Both Wissa and Ramsey have had positive outings as a No. 10, and starting either of them there instead of Willock is the best-case scenario going forward.
Ramsey's positive display against Bournemouth and his goal were key to the late draw. It was an encouraging performance and he has experience in that role from his time at Aston Villa.
Wissa, meanwhile, scored against Spurs and grabbed an assist against Liverpool. His physicality is a bonus in that role, letting him hold off anyone pushing up towards him, much like he did in the build-up to Willock's goal.
Wissa and Ramsey are Newcastle's best options in the attacking midfield role. Ramsey offers a greater technical threat and can help sustain attacks in the final third.
Willock still has a role to play, particularly in cup games or as an option from the bench when Jaissle needs a change. However, his performances as a starting attacking midfielder have not been as convincing as those of Ramsey or Wissa.
