Newcastle United have finally ticked off the most important box from their summer shopping list- a new striker who could lead the attack. Since the beginning of the transfer window, the club have been looking to add some firepower upfront following the departure of Callum Wilson, who left for free after his contract ran out. Meanwhile, Alexander Isak is also trying to force his way out, refusing to play for the club which further complicated things and Eddie Howe was left without an established striker. However that is set to change Soon.

In the first two Premier League matchups for Newcastle, it was clearly evident that they were lacking a prolific goalscorer upfront. Anyway, after a long list of missed targets including Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo, Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko among others, it looks like the club have finally managed to secure a new striker.

Fabrizio Romano has recently posted on X confirming that Nick Woltemade to Newcastle is done with his signature ‘Here we go’. The agreement is in place after an official bid with a fee over €80m plus add-ons was accepted. Woltemade has agreed to a long-term deal, and the medical in England is expected to happen in the next 24 hours.

Howe will get a much-needed boost in the team’s attacking ranks once the player arrives. Woltemade, who stands at 6ft 6in, will add aerial superiority up front, and Newcastle wingers will surely be happy with this signing.

The German international scored 17 goals last season in 33 match appearances for Stuttgart in all competitions. At just 23 years old, the player has the quality to develop as one of the best in his position.

Notably, Bayern Munich were close to signing the youngster in the early stages of the summer and had even agreed personal terms with the player, but the deal fell through. This has turned out to be a blessing for the Magpies.

Newcastle are set to miss their makeshift striker Anthony Gordon for the next three domestic matches, so the signing of Woltemade couldn’t have come at a better moment. That said, it remains to be seen when the Magpies officially announces the deal and if there’s enough time for the player to be ready to make his debut against Leeds United, even if that comes from the bench.
