Coming on the back of a series of disappointing performances in the PL, few would have expected the way Newcastle fought against Arsenal. However, defying the odds, Eddie Howe's side deservedly grabbed the complete 3 points at home, with an overall brilliant performance on both ends. While they did enjoy the much-needed home support, credit needs to be given to the Toon players who gave their best display in this PL campaign.

In the last few PL games, Newcastle's lack of intensity and aggression going forward had been proving detrimental; however, this time the side looked close to their level best, showing a willingness to give their all for the complete 3 points. Although much of the media spotlight was captured by star forward Isak, who netted his 3rd goal since his injury return, the 1-0 win against Arsenal had many silent heroes for Newcastle.

Club legend Alan Shearer, speaking after the fixture, brilliantly acknowledged the crucial contribution of the key duo, who were vital in their 1-0 win. Newcastle's dynamic full-back duo, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento, stood exceptional against Arsenal, emerging to be the standout performers for their side.

Understandably, Shearer had massive praise for the ace prodigy duo, saying,

"“That set the standard. They had to dig deep, they did. The two full-backs, Livramento and Lewis Hall, were absolutely outstanding and nullified any threat from Arsenal’s two wingers.”"

As the PL record scorer mentioned, be it Hall or Livramento, both were exceptional at managing their flanks, playing a dynamic role on the defensive fronts. Be it making crucial interceptions, key tackles, or clearances, the duo felt omnipresent to guard their goal against the Gunners. Deservedly, while 20-year-old prodigy Lewis Hall won the MOTM for his display, promising star Livramento stood as the second-best-rated Toon player.

However, what has been much more impressive for Newcastle is that the duo has been giving such performances again and again. In particular, ace prodigy Lewis Hall has proved to be one of the best players for the Magpies club this season. Newcastle fans would hope that the full-back duo continues this way going forward, playing a crucial role in their season ahead.
