Newcastle vs Chelsea: Danny Murphy predicts WINNER in St James clash

Ahead of the clash between Newcastle vs Chelsea at St James’ Park tomorrow, pundit Danny Murphy has predicted the outcome and WINNER of the match.

Newcastle United will return to Premier League action tomorrow in what felt like the shortest international ever. Usually, it drags but as Newcastle fans, most of us were hoping that it took its time and gave rest to some of our players who needed it most.

Nevertheless, we are excited to host Chelsea at St James’ Park tomorrow afternoon in a historic clash which often produces drama and some top quality football. Even given the injury crisis, I would argue that we are the favourites to win this match given our home form of late, but pundit Danny Murphy has had his say.

Understandably, Murphy has pointed to Newcastle’s injuries as their weakness. He feels that because of this, Chelsea will get the upper-hand as the away team in this match. Quoted by the Chelsea Chronicle, Murphy has stated ““I think Chelsea will win at Newcastle because of Newcastle’s injuries.”

We hope he’s wrong, but I can understand why pundits are writing us off. After all, we didn’t put in the most convincing display before the international break when we faced Bournemouth. We were all over the place in that match and were the deserved losers, however, Howe has proven time and time again that there is a rainbow after every storm as we often overcome our rough periods with a good run of results.

In my match preview, I predicted a Newcastle win. Despite the injury concerns, I am hopeful given our 12th man which is the loud St James’ crowd. Let’s hope I’m right and not Mr Murphy.
