Should Ruben Neves sign for Newcastle United, his former teammate at Wolves has spoken about how he’d feel with the transfer.

Newcastle United are no strangers to controversy. As fans, we absolutely love to see rival fans rattled by decisions which we either make or have made by others in favour of us. For example, the recent controversial win against Arsenal which saw Mikel Arteta crying for days on end, there is something that feels so good about being a wind-up club.

Well, the agenda against us could have continued recently, with Premier League clubs campaigning against a controversial transfer of ours. In case you missed it, we have been linked with Ruben Neves on loan for the last few weeks but since we share the same owners as Al-Hilal (PIF), this move could be seen as unfair. However, not enough Premier League clubs signed the petition, meaning we can operate the loan move if we desire.

Wolves captain Max Kilman speaks about Newcastle signing Ruben Neves

Speaking out on the potential loan transfer is new Wolves captain Max Kilman. Kilman, unlike some other commentators, has been respectful and not questioned the morality of the transfer, only what it means for his friend and former teammate Ruben Neves.

Quoted by Molineux News, Kilman had the following to say:

"“Of course it would be hard to play against Neves because we played with him, he’d been at Wolves for so long and has been a phenomenal player. If he does come back, I’d be happy to see him and to play against him. He’s a great player and he’d give Newcastle a boost.” – Max Kilman"

Certainly, the Premier League experience could prove to be a big boost for Eddie Howe as he seeks to replace the suspended Sandro Tonali.
