RW: Miguel Almiron. Came off the bench at the Signal Iduna Park, so he’ll feel fresh to play in Bournemouth. Almiron is great in games like this and I would favour him for an early goal to ease our nerves.

CF: Anthony Gordon. Gordon can certainly play through the middle and given that Callum Wilson faces a race against time to be fit, I would play Gordon instead if I was Howe. He’s energetic and can win the ball back in areas of danger. I reckon he’ll have a good display against the Bournemouth defence who struggle for form.

LW: Joelinton. Played out wide against Dortmund and was one of our best players on the night. He’ll feel hard done by not to get the win, but that should give him some hunger to get on the score sheet in this match against Bournemouth.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Bournemouth: Pope; Livramento, Lascelles (c), Schar, Trippier; Longstaff, Willock, Miley; Almiron, Joelinton, Gordon
