The England squad has recently been announced by Gareth Southgate. The November international break involves England caing Malta at home and then North Macedonia away from home.

From Eddie Howe’s perspective, he would have selfishly preferred none of his players to be included in the England squad. After all, he is currently facing an injury crisis and playing Tetris with his squad to ensure everybody stays fit. The international break has a track record of not being kind to club managers but hopefully, it’s kinder to Eddie Howe, who needs a bit of luck.

In fairness, Newcastle are in good form considering half of our squad are out injured or suspended. We have put together a good run of results and we hope to bounce back from the Champions League setback by getting another three points in the Premier League, where we face Bournemouth away from home.

After the Bournemouth game, there is an international break. This couldn’t have come at a better time, as it gives a chance for some of our players to rest and recuperate, which is much needed given the injuries in the squad combined with a busy schedule, exacerbated by our involvement in the Champions League.
